sense of humor

My Dad was a professional photographer.

He was very good with children. In fact he was very good with all subjects. He died of Alzhimers disease in 1998. I found these pictures in the many boxes of pictures he had. They show his patience and great humor. He wrote the balloons on pieces of paper and glued them to the picture. If you can't read them they are as follows...

1. Goleta Jay takes a self portrait....
Wow...Look what I found! A Nikon FM, with no owner in sight...Let's try a self - timer portrait.

2. F/11 at 125 sec should be about right.

3. This close - up lens at 6 inches looks good
4. # ...This self - timer lever is for the birds!

5. CHEEEEEEESE! (click)
6. Hey! Nice head and shoulder shot...Good hair, I mean feather, back lighting...nice catch - light in my eye...Guess that mocking bird chick will sit up and take notice of me now!

Too busy to blog.

Has been a long hot summer and I spent most of my time refinishing my kitchen cabinets. Glad that job is finished.
Emily was here today and drew a picture of the fall season. I thought it was really good for a seven year old. What do you think?

Another Birthday

Emily had a birthday last month. I told herI would make her a surprise birthday cake. And I did. She was surprised. I was too. That doll had long legs and it took three cakes to get it tall enough.
